Commonly referred to as the World Championships in Athletics (WCH), is a biennial athletics event organized by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). Originally held every four years, first in 1983, the current two-year cycle began in 1991. Over the years the competition has grown in size. In 1983 an estimated 1,300
athletes from 154 countries participated. By the 2003 competition, in Paris, it had grown to 1,907 athletes from 203 countries with coverage being transmitted to 179 different countries. The sport is considered the easiest to practice thanks to its simplicity and easy access to its equipment, which doesn’t cost a lot of money either. Discipline 100M, 200M, 400M, 800M, 1500M, 5000M, 10000M 3000M Steeplechase 100M Hurdles, 400M Hurdles 4x100M Relay, 4x400M Relay Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump Hammer Throw Pole Vault Shot put, Discus Throw, Javelin Throw Decathlon, Heptathlon Road Races: Marathon and 50 KM & 20 KM Race Walk. 17th IAAF World Athletics Championships, Doha 2019. will take place from September 27 to October 6, 2019. Over 10 days, 24 different events will be held for male and female athletes. WCH Doha 2019 will feature the IAAF World Championships’ first-ever midnight marathon, while a new format of the competition’s schedule sees all morning sessions removed and
split evening sessions introduced for the first time with one-hour intervals to allow for entertainment and family activities. The competition will also see the global debut of the first 4x400m mixed relay ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
